What this policy covers
This policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage affmatic.media uses, what they are for, and how you can change your choices.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. The site also uses localStorage, which works in a similar way and is described below in the same list.
How consent works
The website shows a cookie banner when you first arrive. It uses Google Consent Mode v2, and the default state is denied. Until you accept analytics, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
Your choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the name affm_consent, so the banner does not appear again on every visit. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of the site.
Cookies we use
affm_consent— Affmatic Media (first-party) — stores your cookie choice — 12 months — strictly necessary (stored in localStorage)._ga— Google Analytics — distinguishes users — 2 years — analytics (only with consent)._ga_<container-id>— Google Analytics — persists session state — 2 years — analytics (only with consent).
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. It is the only third-party tool on the site, and its purpose is limited to aggregated statistics on site usage. IP anonymization is applied by GA4 by default. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party fonts: fonts are self-hosted, so your browser makes no requests to Google Fonts.
- No third-party images: photos are hosted locally on our site.
- We do not sell personal data and we do not make automated decisions about visitors.
Managing your choices
- You can change your analytics consent at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
- You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
- If you clear your browser storage, the cookie banner will appear again, because your stored choice (
affm_consent) is removed.
